Introduction to ADA Compliance
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a landmark civil rights law aimed at preventing discrimination based on disability. It ensures individuals with disabilities have equal access to public accommodations, goods, and services. At La Puente Bakery, we recognize the importance of this law and are committed to adhering to its guidelines. From accessible physical spaces to welcoming service animals, we strive to create a supportive environment where all guests can comfortably enjoy our offerings. We regularly evaluate our services and facilities to uphold ADA standards and meet the needs of all patrons. Learn more about The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) here.
Accessibility Overview
Our commitment to accessibility is comprehensive, covering multiple areas, including physical access, service animal policies, parking, mobility device support, and other essential resources. Below, you’ll find an overview of the specific measures we’ve implemented to promote accessibility:
Physical Accessibility: We provide a wheelchair-accessible ramp at our main entrance to ensure ease of entry for guests using mobility devices or with other mobility-related needs. In addition, our restroom facilities include a fully accessible handicap bathroom, designed with the appropriate space, fixtures, and accommodations for individuals with disabilities.
Visual and Hearing Accommodations: For any specific visual or auditory needs, our team is trained to assist customers upon request, ensuring clear communication and support. We are actively exploring additional ways to enhance accessibility for all sensory needs.
Service Animals
The ADA explains what businesses and state/local governments must do to make sure that they do not discriminate against a member of the public with a disability who uses a service animal.
Generally, businesses and non-profits that are open to the public as well as state/local governments must allow service animals to go most places where the public can go. This is true even if they have a “no pets” policy.
We understand that service animals play an essential role in the independence and well-being of many individuals. In accordance with ADA guidelines, La Puente Bakery welcomes all service animals. Service animals are defined by the ADA as animals trained to perform tasks directly related to a person’s disability. To maintain a comfortable environment for all patrons, we ask that service animals remain under their handler’s control at all times. Our staff is also trained to recognize and respect the rights of individuals with service animals to ensure a supportive and friendly environment.

Parking Accessibility
When state or local governments, businesses and non-profit organizations provide parking lots or garages, accessible parking spaces complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) must be provided. Accessible parking spaces are different than traditional parking spaces. They have specific features that make it easier for people with disabilities to access your programs, goods or services.
We provide designated handicap parking spaces in close proximity to our main entrance to ensure convenient access for guests with mobility challenges. These parking spaces are clearly marked and designed to accommodate vehicles with ramps or lifts. Our parking area also includes easy-to-navigate pathways that lead directly to our accessible entrance, enhancing the overall accessibility for individuals with disabilities. Learn more about parking accessibility requirements here.
Mobility Devices and Physical Support
Our facility is designed to support the use of a variety of mobility devices, including wheelchairs, scooters, walkers, and other aids. La Puente Bakery’s front entrance is equipped with a wheelchair-accessible ramp, allowing guests to enter and exit the bakery with ease. Additionally, our accessible restroom includes handrails and other ADA-compliant features to support those who need extra assistance.

Accessibility Resources
In addition to our physical accommodations, we aim to be a resource for information on accessibility. Below are some resources that may be helpful for guests requiring additional support or information about accessibility services in our community:
ADA National Network: Provides information, guidance, and training on how to ensure equal access under the ADA.
U.S. Department of Justice ADA page: An official source of information on ADA standards, updates, and enforcement.
Laws and Regulations
La Puente Bakery is committed to adhering to all applicable laws and regulations regarding accessibility, including federal, state, and local guidelines. We review our accessibility practices regularly to ensure compliance and make improvements where needed. Our dedication to ADA compliance is part of a larger commitment to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment. Should we make changes to our facility or services, we prioritize accessibility as a key consideration in all our planning efforts.
